Circle
Who goes to take their trash out at 3:45 in the morning? I do. I’m a creature of the night, so this make perfect sense all right? You don’t expect to happen upon anyone in the wee hours but you know, there’s that thing they say about birds of a feather. That there would be someone out doing the same thing at the same time as I was unexpected but not exactly jarring. I’m...

Strangers
We are not soul mates - we’re neither friends nor foes, We’re merely blind birds that briefly breathed the same air, As we once soared beneath an indigo nest of stars.

Brand
“Becca, eyes and ears please!”
The researcher fumbled with her earpiece. “Ah, sorry!”
She drew back, momentarily dizzied as her aural and optical implants reinitialized. When she opened her eyes again, Becca hopped out of the capsule. She swung her body downward, scanning the wild panorama laid out beneath them.
“How is it now, Sam?”

Insecurity
All of my favorite writers make me feel foolish for daring to dream as big as they dreamed, when I know so little and have learned so few of the things they knew, when they wrote what they wrote. I can only imagine Asimov, Bradury, Nin, Niven and McCaffrey mercilessly picking apart my tiny imagination with much alacrity, for daring to dream so big for one so small as me.

Something Old
There’s this thick liquor, I like. It’s dark, pours down into me like a slow fire. If I had to put a name to that irresistibly sweet taste, I’d call it Sorrow. The kind that swells and traps your lungs in a long and painful breath.
The kind that wells up into me whenever I think of you.

I Cannot Resist
I want to cry I want to rail at monsters whose faces I can’t even remember I want to know I want to hear you derive such perverse pleasure from torturing me Destroy and punish me Curse me because you love someone you think is me I cannot resist.
